Hi,

it's me again.
At the beginning of the installation I had chosen "orcl" as database name
(the SID which the installer proposed), but orarun had set ORACLE_SID in
etc/profile.d/oracle.sh to "mydb". That's also the reason why I could not
startup the database. After changing the SID from "mydb" to "orcl" I can
start it at the shell terminal or with Enterprise Manager. But the database
didn't start automatically at boot time although the needed parameters in
etc/sysconfig/oracle are set.

The following error occurred:
ORA-12505: TNS:listener does not currently know of SID given in connect
descriptor (DBD ERROR: OCIServerAttach)

Could the different SIDs during the installation caused that error?

Thanks
Andreas
